Application of Internet of Things (IoT) for Microsoft Dynamics AX

In this session we'll showcase how Internet of Things (IoT) concepts apply to Microsoft Dynamics AX. Specifically we'll consider a lean manufacturing environment with work cells and introduce the term of "intelligent location" which is capable of monitoring its state and communicating with an ERP backend via IoT devices.

The solution is built using Microsoft technology: Windows 10 IoT Core OS on Raspberry Pi, Visual Studio 2015 Windows 10 Universal Apps, and Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3. All aspects of the solution will be covered, including functionality, hardware and software. Using a fully automated solution like this allows manufacturers to achieve new levels of operational efficiency and manufacturing process improvements. The concepts covered during this session can easily be applied to other industries, too.
