Dynamics GP End-of-Service is coming: A course to help you navigate the transition

December 31, 2029 is the last day Microsoft will provide mainstream support for Dynamics GP.  While 2029 may seem like a long way off, time always passes faster than we think it will. The last thing you want is to reach the middle of 2029 and realize you haven’t laid any of the groundwork for a successful transition to a new ERP platform or accounting system.

While you can select a timeline that works best for your organization, you should know that moving away from Dynamics GP isn’t a project you can tackle at the last minute. Choosing your replacement software, planning your migration, preparing your data, adapting your processes, and getting your team ready all require time and careful coordination.

That’s why we created a new, free course on our educational platform Syvantis Learn to help you get started. “Preparing to leave Dynamics GP: A comprehensive transition guide,” walks you through how to prepare for the end of Dynamics GP and build a transition plan that works for your organization.

The course content

If you’re feeling overwhelmed at the prospect of leaving behind the software that holds all your data and has supported years of historical processes, this course is for you.

In it, we cover:

  • The full scope of Dynamic GP’s end-of-life dates.
  • The financial considerations of a systems transition, like subscriptions, licensing, and currently available promotions.
  • Evaluating and selecting your new ERP platform or accounting software (and why you might want to make it Business Central).
  • Maintaining and improving upon your Dynamics GP system in preparation for your transition.
  • How to make sure nothing is lost or left behind in your old system with a GP-to-BC transition checklist.

Three paths forward

Our course also includes three recommended tracks that you can choose between to find your way forward:

  • Track 1, Stay on GP as long as possible: “I’m not ready to move yet—what’s my timeline?”
  • Track 2, Migrating from GP to BC: “I want to preserve elements of my current system in my move.”
  • Track 3, A new ERP implementation: “I want a fresh start in my move to a new ERP platform.”

Enroll in our free course, “Preparing to leave Dynamics GP: A comprehensive transition guide” today, and prepare to move your system into the future—wherever that takes you.
