Search and filtering of sessions on event registration form
Writing on her blog, Megan Walker stated that she still receives questions for situations she hasn't run into. One example was a question about whether it was possible to add a search box or filters to an event registration form that includes sessions.
She pointed out that in this case, the reader had around 100 sessions that needed to be displayed. That's a lot for someone registering, having to scroll through and read each one just to find the right sessions to choose.
So Walker stated that she decided to take on the challenge and came up with a few solutions that allow for searching and filtering sessions. Her setup includes a keyword search, a category dropdown, a date picker, a time selector, a reset option to clear all filters, and a counter that shows how many sessions match the filters, along with how many sessions the person has already registered for.
According to Walker, the best part is that it also prevents someone from signing up for two sessions that take place at the same date and time.
Walker then explained how her solutions work.
