Microsoft Sees Accelerated Adoption of Dynamics GP 10 with Introduction Feature Pack 1 in June

The GPUG 2008 Summit was a frenetic mix of partner presentations, roundtable discussions on issues relating to Microsoft Dynamics GP, and opportunities to learn from other users, ISVs and Microsoft officials.  In between his busy conference schedule, Rich Miller, of Microsoft Dynamics GP Product Marketing, spoke with Laura Oppenheimer of MSDynamicsWorld.com about using Microsoft Dynamics GP today, and what users can expect to see more of in the future. 

MSDW: What feedback has surprised you from GP users?

Miller: It's a very positive thing. What I'm starting to hear more and more about are things like this from customers with a lot of experience: "We're running GP 9.0, we're running MOSS 2003, when you get these things up and running,  you wonder why anyone would use anything but Microsoft." We need to translate this for people who have less experience with GP

The thing that's also surprising to me is the number of people who haven't looked at Business Ready Licensing. For the right customer, it's an amazing value. I'm surprised more people aren't looking at it. It's our job to get the word out about how much is really in it and what the advantages are.

MSDW: Is there still a place for FRx reporting with Microsoft Dynamics GP?

Miller: Absolutely. FRx is definitely still a part of what we're doing.  When you look at a customer and their specific needs needs, PerformancePoint could be a good fit, but FRx is still a part of what we do.

MSDW: Do you see any confusion with customers choosing to do business intelligence with SharePoint versus Performance Point?
