The 2015 Year-End Updates have been released for both Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013 and Dynamics GP 2015. The 2015 Canadian Payroll Year-End Update is targeted for early/mid-December 2015.

The Year-End Updates makes changes to program code and database tables, according to Lisa Shechter, Dynamics GP Practice Manager. They  includes cumulative service packs for both versions. Customers currently on GP 2013 will automatically get updated to GP 2013 R2; and customers on GP 2015 will receive the GP 2015 R2 update. A test update is recommended for all environments where customizations and/or integrations are present because of the table changes, she said.

Since there is no Year-End Update for Dynamics GP 2010, customers that need the changes in this update, should upgrade to Dynamics GP 2013 or Dynamics GP 2015, according to Terry Heley, an escalation engineer who supports the Dynamics GP product.

Payroll customers have to apply the Year-End Update any time before the Year-End Wage files are generated. Additionally, 2016 Payroll tax tables will have to be applied after the Year-End Wage file is generated and before the first payroll of 2016.

For customers without payroll, the Year-End Update will have to be applied before the 1099s are printed.

The updates for Microsoft Dynamics GP 2015 (version 14.00.0898, including GP 2015 R2 and all prior patches) include:
