Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 Pilots Subscription Pricing, Plans Azure Availability in 2013
With its release last week, Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 will differentiate itself based on its improved performance, hostability, integration to other Microsoft products, and the availability of its ISV solutions, says Paul White, Microsoft's senior director of ERP product management in a new blog post.
Subscription pricing for both on-premise and hosted NAV 2013 is in "pilot mode" currently with some partners, with a full SPLA licensing option coming, according to a Microsoft spokesperson. Much is already understood about the new perpetual licensing model for on-premise deployments of NAV 2013.
Microsoft also today confirmed that they expect a Q1 of calendar year 2013 availability of an Azure-hosted solution of some sort for NAV 2013. A Microsoft spokesperson said, "[W]e are currently fine-tuning deployment scenarios and creating prescriptive guidance for deploying NAV on Windows Azure. We expect to make deployment of NAV on Windows Azure broadly available in Q1 of CY2013."
