ISVs Prepare for Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 - Part 2: Adapting to Changes in Technology, Interface

As Microsoft Dynamics partners and ISVs work to upgrade their custom solutions for with Dynamics AX 2012, they are also getting acquainted with the new features and interfaces of the upcoming release, as well as the platform capabilities.

According to Bjorn Kuijt, VP of Product Management at To-Increase, Dynamics AX 2012 is constructed in such a way that will allow To-Increase to feel more confident approaching larger customers with its solution.

"It's a better platform for the future," he said. "The next generation way of how the data model is coming together gives us much more comfort in performance and scalability as we go to these bigger customers. We used to lose deals from companies like SAP and Oracle because we didn't have references among larger companies due to lack of scalability. Now we will cover that big time with AX 2012."

Kuijt said because Dynamics AX 2012 offers a tighter integration with the Microsoft stack elements like SharePoint and CRM, as well as server tools and the database, it will enable To-Increase to think about where it wants to leverage the functionality.

"For example, maybe we want to build more to the CRM part of the Microsoft stack," he said. "So the tighter integration gives us more flexibility to design a solution in a way that fits better with modern enterprise architecture, which is a great benefit as well."

Kuijt said Microsoft has also focused on the simplicity, usability and adoptability of the solution for the enterprise.
