Dynamics ERP, CRM Will Succeed In Context of Azure Services, Line of Business Apps: Microsoft CMO Chris Capossela

Microsoft CMO Chris CaposselaMicrosoft CMO Chris Capossela recently participated in an briefing at the Citi Global Technology Conference, covering a wide range of the company's broad plans and ambitions, from Windows 10, PCs, and phones to Xbox, Office 365, and yes, even Dynamics ERP and CRM.

Pritchard brought up Dynamics by first noting that Microsoft came reasonably close to making a monumental investment in CRM via Salesforce. He asked: is CRM now front and center for Microsoft?

Capossela's response should resonate with anyone looking for assurance that Microsoft has a legitimate plan for Dynamics ERP and CRM amid its other efforts to build out Office 365 and Azure adoption among not only its partners and customers, but among virtually every Dynamics competitor on the planet, from Salesforce to SAP to NetSuite. He explained:

"[I]n many ways I think of ERP and CRM as near finished line of business apps that run on Azure and take advantage of all that Azure can bring to the table. So in that sense, it's not just about sales force automation, or it's not just about the supply chain, it's actually bringing the power of many of the Azure services, like our Cortana Analytics Suite, to the data that a CRM system or an ERP system creates.
