Highlighting the Microsoft Build 2019 conference in Seattle May 6th through 8th, Steven Guggenheimer, Corporate Vice President for AI and ISV engagement noted new accelerators and business apps development.

Beginning a few years ago, Microsoft introduced a co-sell program to help bridge the gap between customers and Azure ISVs creating new IP. So far, 3000 ISVs have generated five billion dollars in revenue through the co-sell agreement and Guggenheimer's colleague, Scott Guthrie, has announced an expansion of the co-sell program for Dynamics 365 and Power Platform partners. And SaaS transaction capabilities were added to AppSource and Azure Marketplace on May 6, paving the way for participants in the partner program when it gets underway in July.

New Industry Accelerators are targeted to Dynamics 365 and Power Platform development. The list currently includes Healthcare, "Education Insight" (which encompasses K-12 and higher education), Nonprofit, and Media as well as Automotive and Financial Services, both of which are in private preview.

ISVs can take advantage of a hierarchy for solution delivery. The First Layer--Microsoft Power Platform Common Data Model—is the foundation for accelerators, while the Second Layer accelerators and ISV solutions extend the Common Data Model.
