The textile cluster of Tirupur Exporters' Association (TEA) has announced its adoption of a new enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution from Wipro IT Business for all the manufacturing units in the cluster. The initiative is being launched through G-Tech Info Solutions.

The cloud solution, based on Microsoft Dynamics AX, is expected to enhance the productivity and efficiency of a total of 4,000 users in numerous small and medium enterprises in Tirupur by automating and simplifying manufacturing, logistic, financials, customer and vendor relationships, human resource and supply chain processes, according to officials. The Dynamics AX software will be hosted on Wipro's datacenters.

"We understand the importance of technology adoption for the growth of business for the textile exporters and manufacturers in Tirupur," said A. Sakthivel from the Tirupur Exporter's Association in a statement. "The solution that Wipro will implement for us, built on Microsoft Dynamics will give us the benefits of the next generation ERP solution at a cost effective price."

The Wipro solution built on the Dynamics AX platform will be available in a software-as-a-service model from Wipro's cloud infrastructure. The solution will address common organizational processes, as well as meet the specific needs of the textile industry.  The solution will target all the segments of the supply chain from manufacturers to traders to exporters, according to company officials. The solution is offered on a ‘per user per month' pricing model that is expected to be affordable for small and medium sized businesses.

G-tech also has plans to roll-out this solution to other textile clusters across India in the future.
