No Matter How Difficult the Economy Becomes, Executives and Employees Alike Need to Leverage Microsoft Dynamics GP Expertise

The economy is shedding jobs left and right but the market for people with Dynamics GP experience continues to be strong.

The message here is twofold:

  1. Senior executives need to cultivate the GP expertise they have, and continue to be on the lookout for new talent, even if their companies are reducing headcounts.
  2. Employees who resist a new Dynamics GP implementation need to begin looking at the bigger picture. Companies often implement Dynamics GP to improve efficiency and obtain better information. As I mentioned in my previous champion article, it's often not a senior executive who really makes a difference in a Dynamics GP implementation-- it's usually someone in the middle like a senior accountant or assistant controller.

Senior executives desperate to cut payroll send the wrong message and threaten their companies' underpinnings if they eliminate individuals with Dynamics GP expertise. In a sense, such executives are throwing out the baby with the bathwater, so essential is such expertise as executives seek to make their companies more productive.

Perhaps more significant, employees who resist a new system tell management with their actions that management screwed up. Unlike actually saying that to a boss's face, resistance says that over and over and over again. 

By embracing Dynamics GP, employees send a number of positive messages.  It shows management they are team players. Employees gain new skills, which they can add to their resume'.  Finally, it often leads to increased responsibility.
