Microsoft unveiled its new logo today, a four-square symbol with a new Segoe typeface for the logotype.  The new logo is rolling out broadly - from the web site to the Microsoft stores, new television ads, and other marketing materials that roll out through the rest of this year.

The updated logo also precede a variety of important product launches this fall that are sure to see the new treatment, including Windows 8, Office 2013, and, we'd guess, the variety of important Microsoft Dynamics releases coming down the pike like the Dynamics CRM Fall 2012 and Winter 2012 Releases, Dynamics GP 2013 and NAV 2013, and the Dynamics AX 2012 R2 release in 2013.

Here's the video that accompanied today's announcement.

In one early response, US-based Master VAR Socius pointed out the similarities to their own logo that features a four box approach.  There are all sorts of differences as well in terms of colors, sizing, and positioning, but an interesting observation nonetheless from a major Dynamics partner.
