Data Access Redesign in Dynamics NAV - Convenient for New but Complex for Existing Users

On the Dynamics NAV Community blog, Chirag Shivalker, talks about a new feature the Dynamics NAV team added aimed at redesigning the data access layers between Dynamics NAV server tier and SQL Server. The reason for the change, it seems, is to adjust to the ADO.NET interface and support the enhanced features within SQL Server.

Processing of Shipments

On his Dynamics NAV blog, Olof Simren explains that there are four ways to process inventory shipments in Dynamics NAV. Which one you select depends on your business requirements and what processes are most suitable. Simren says he usually discusses the different options early in the analysis phase of an implementation to establish the preferred method as soon as possible. He says it's important to get it right early in the process since everything that follows, i.e., procedures, work instructions, potential modifications and printouts will depend on the chosen method chosen.
