Microsoft and Jet Reports Announce Excel-based Reporting for Dynamics GP

BI and reporting software vendor Jet Reports has partnered with Microsoft to launch Jet Express for Excel for Dynamics GP, designed to help users create Excel-based reports tied to their ERP data. The product will be unveiled at Amplify, the Microsoft and GPUG co-hosted conference taking place May 23-25 in Anaheim, Calif.

Jet Express for Excel with Microsoft Dynamics GP will be available free as a download in June of 2016 directly from the Jet Reports website, according to Jon Oesch, VP of Sales, Jet Reports.

"In addition to the software, a set of pre-built reports, tutorial videos, and access to an online community and support forum will be accessible from there," he says.

This new financial and business reporting tool takes advantage of Excel's analytic capabilities, such as charts, pivot tables and custom formatting, to allow users to rapidly build reports based on any data that exists in Dynamics GP, according to officials of the two companies. The resulting reports provide insight into operations including sales and finance, A/P and A/R, or inventory.

In addition to the free version, Jet Reports also offers an upgrade path from Jet Express for Excel to address the more advanced reporting and analytics needs of GP users, says Oesch.

"Jet Professional (formerly known as Jet Essentials), is the next step up from Jet Express," he says. "It allows GP users to get all the operational data they need, in the environment that works for them including both standard Excel and  web based formats. Jet Professional enables you to query additional databases, consolidate multiple companies, automate your report distribution activities and extend your formatting options."
