Management Reporter Web Client for Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013 Grabs Attention at Technical Airlift

Among the range of new features of the GP 2013 Beta release that Microsoft Dynamics GP partners are pouring over at this week's Technical Airlift event, the new web-based report viewer for Management Reporter got some early attention for its updated look, access control, and simplicity.

The web-based report viewer runs on top of SharePoint and (obviously) doesn't require the full Management Reporter client.  Microsoft's blog post reviewing the announcement was a little light on details, but noted that it "will offer many of the features in the desktop viewer today."

Ian Grieve offered some early input today, having previewed the tools last week.  His reviews were positive, noting that it is "remarkably complete...drill-downs, charts, notes; everything from the MR desktop client was present."

Judging by the screenshots shared by Microsoft, like the one above there is an Export button in the lower left, which should be a relief for those users looking to do more analysis in their desktop tool of choice - Excel.

Grieve gives the new web client a thumbs up overall, concluding: "this web-based viewer for MR looks like it will be a good compliment to the web client that was announced for Microsoft Dynamics GP. Top marks to all those involved as it looks, and works even in preview, very well."
