Lorge Powers Up Westingcorp with Microsoft Dynamics Navision Solution

Westingcorp Power Industries (WPI) has contracted mid-market ERP solutions provider Lorge to supply, install and commission a Microsoft Dynamics NAV accounting and financial ERP software solution at its Pretoria headquarters.

As a designer, manufacturer, supplier and installer of medium voltage switchgear, transformers, mini-substations and diverse related electrical products into sub-Saharan Africa, WPI produces a high proportion of made-to-order equipment and, therefore, the focus of the MS Dynamics NAV software solution will be on job-costing management.

General manager of Lorge's Dynamics division Neels du Plooy said the financial elements of the solution will include general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and stock. "Once these elements are in place we will implement and fine-tune the job-costing functionality to best suit WPI's operational needs."

WPI has four divisions. Switchgear is manufactured to meet the needs of customised solutions. The company also offers testing, repairs and refurbishment across a wide range of electrical products, transformer oil management services, manufacture of min-substation housings and is the sole sub-Saharan Africa distributor for Driescher Wegberg SF6 insulated switchgear and Tavrida circuit breakers. The Power Projects division designs power projects to individual customer requirements.
