January 4: MSDynamicsWorld launches Microsoft Dynamics AX costing seminar

by Jason Gumpert
Editor, MSDynamicsWorld.com

Don RiggsOn Wednesday, January 4, MSDynamicsWorld will launch a comprehensive 10-session seminar on Microsoft Dynamics AX costing. Acting as presenter is Don Riggs, who for much of his 25-year career has trained cost accountants as a trainer and engineered costing-related processes for Dynamics AX customers.

Registration is no-cost and open to anyone who wants to join one or or more of the sessions.

Riggs explained to MSDW that he was inspired to create the sessions, having observed among Dynamics AX users that they lacked a single comprehensive source of information on costing in AX. The information will be, he says "applicable to all versions of AX and as such will have value to anyone attending."

The 10-session series is delivered in two-hour segments twice weekly, concluding on February 1.

The areas of focus will include the following:

  • Costing Environment and the Associated Setup - Parts 1 and 2 will cover the overall Dynamics AX costing system, offering a deep understanding of how it functions.
  • Standard Cost and the Effective Setup - Parts 1 and 2 will cover the standard elements of all costing methods, and how to set them up in Dynamics AX.
  • How to Achieve Fully Built Up Cost with Standard Tools - Parts 1 and 2 will provide a deep understanding of product cost, beyond purchase cost or direct manufacturing cost, and including freight, tariffs, fees, and indirect costs and more.
