Indegene, Microsoft plan 'conversational CRM', digital content management for life sciences with Dynamics 365, Omnipresence

Microsoft is partnering with life sciences business software maker Indegene to connect the Omnipresence cloud solution with Dynamics 365 for Sales. The resulting offering will be a CRM solution specifically for sales and medical representatives, the companies say, that will manage content development, provide in-line analytics, support sales representatives, and improve the customer experience.

One of the unique elements of the combined offering will be something the companies describe as a conversational CRM interface that will use voice recognition technology to assist in sales reps' daily activities. Other areas of the integrated solution the companies are noting include:

  • content management, from authoring to approval to distribution;
  • Analytics, including machine learning, built into tasks and workflows for data-driven recommendations and prescriptive insights;
  • Giving frontline teams tools to engage and connect with their healthcare provider customers.

The integrated solution is set to launch by July 2017, with global deployments to follow, Microsoft advised in a statement. The Indegene Omnipresence for life sciences cloud will be deployable as a complete solution or individual modules. The product can do a range of things for a company including managing healthcare provider (HCP) profiles, sample capture, formulary data, and prescription data.

Beyond Dynamics 365 for Sales, Omnipresence will also interact with a range of Microsoft tools. The suite integrates with LinkedIn and can expose capabilities from within Outlook. And PowerPoint can be used in the context of Omnipresence to develop, approve, and manage content for sales reps in a way that maintains compliance and adheres to campaign guidelines.
