Microsoft announced the general availability of its Azure IoT Digital Twins offering.

Digital Twins offers building blocks to assemble digital models of real-world technology, spanning factories, buildings and stadiums up to entire cities. A number of organizations are already using the Microsoft offering. Doosan Heavy Industries and Construction and Bentley Systems are modeling wind farms, according to Microsoft, while Ansys is integrating its modeling IP with Digital Twins. Brookfield Properties in New York City partnered with Willow to replicate its One Manhattan West property with Digital Twins. Microsoft founded the Digital Twins Consortium in May, which now has 170 members.
