Skytap is collaborating with Microsoft to bring IBM POWER solutions to Azure, offering native support on Linux, IBM i and AIX. The company is previewing support for IBM i applications on DB2 on Skytap, with additional augmentation from Azure IoT Hub.

The move is based on feedback from customers in a 2018 Skytap survey. Many respondents indicated that they use Visual Studio for developing code and Skytap's goal is to integrate Azure DevOps with Power CI/CD tools like UrbanCode and Eradani for faster development. Full-scale previews of the new system will take place later this year.
