Business Central – The mystery of the floating buttons

Writing on the Evolutions Business Systems blog, Jonathan Martin pointed out an established issue in Dynamics 365 Business Central caused by software updates in particular browser updates. The issue of the "floating buttons" is caused by Chromium the underlying platform for  Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome. As Windows updates roll through the issue has started to emerge in D365 BC.

In his blog post, Martin provided a screen shot showing that the "toggle" buttons or option selectors aren't where they should be on the page, rendering the screen unusable and effectively "breaking" D365 BC.

Although a fix is coming from Chromium, it likely won't be until August. So Martin offered a detailed workaround to keep the system running until the fix is released.

This simple fix is to add a CSS plugin that allows you to overwrite the inline CSS that is causing this issue, with a line of code that runs on the local browser as the pages are loading.

Martin then offered step-by-step instructions to do this.
