Using payment registration in Dynamics 365 Business Central

On the Fenwick Software blog, Jennifer Carter pointed out that there are a number of ways to perform the same function in D365BC. In her blog post, Carter looked at using the payment registration function as an alternative to the cash receipts journal.

She noted that although processing payments from customers is frequently done via a cash receipt journal, using the payment registration process will also result in a posted cash receipt journal but you don't have to enter as much data.

You can find out how to use the payment registration feature here.

Create and manage nonstock items in Dynamics NAV

On the ERPSoftwareBlog, an author from MetaOption stated that an item can be defined as stock or nonstock based on whether stock entries are associated with it. The nonstock item contains information about items that a company sells but doesn't carry in inventory.

When you want to keep these inventories, the author stated that you can convert them to normal item cards in a couple of ways:

  1. From a nonstock item card, create a new item card based on a template.
  2. From a sales order line of type item with an empty "No" field, select a nonstock item. An item card is automatically created for the nonstock item.

In the post, the author explained how to create and manage a nonstock item.

You can find out how here.
