Microsoft confirms UK next for Dynamics 365 Financials - Denmark and Netherlands before year end

Microsoft will expand the geographic reach of Dynamics 365 for Financials with a planned launch in the UK soon, followed by Denmark and the Netherlands before the end of calendar year 2017.

Speaking to partners today, Microsoft general managers Paul White and Marko Perisic emphasized that the company is focused on two priorities for Dynamics 365 (D365) Financials: functional and geographic expansion.

D365 Financials will become generally available in the United Kingdom "very soon" though no specific date was shared. Beyond Denmark and the Netherlands, Microsoft is working to accelerate delivery to another five markets in 2018.

"Geographic availability is key in the next few months," said Perisic.

Beyond Microsoft's own localized releases, the team is also planning a W1 (non-localized) version for ISVs to encourage broader use.

Perisic and White also acknowledged during the webcast that D365 Financials will expand its functional footprint. Perisic reiterated today that Financials will get the full NAV treatment. He stated multiple times that the products will share a codebase and offer all the same features. Differences will center around user interface - the "simple experience" of Financials or the "full NAV" experience. And there will likely be some added capabilities for D365 Financials as a benefit of its residence in the public cloud environment.  

"We are working toward a path [where] Dynamics 365 functional capabilities and NAV functional capabilities are synonymous and will continue to be synonymous all the time," said Perisic.
