Sikich acquires SCS in SoCAL, completes coast-to-coast coverage and boosts NAV strength

Sikich LLP  gave itself a daring ten-year deadline to grow its technology services practice from $60 million to $250 million and to build its presence on both US coasts.

With its second major acquisition in 2016, it has achieved a milestone in its geographic expansion. Sikich, based in Naperville, Ill. announced yesterday that it will acquire SCS, based near Los Angeles in Glendale, California.

Earlier this year, the company announced the acquisition of BCG & Co., a firm specializing in audit and assurance, tax, technology and wealth management services with offices in Akron, Ohio, and Atlanta. In 2015, Sikich acquired Altico Advisors, a technology firm based near Boston.

At the time, Jim Drumm, partner in charge of Sikich's technology services practice, laid out the company's 10-year growth plan, which is growth from $60 million to $250 million by expanding on both east and west coasts. The BC&G acquisition was its largest to date at $18 million, while the Altico acquisition cost $8 million.

"The addition of SCS establishes a coast-to-coast presence for Sikich and will better position us to bring a broader suite of services to our West Coast clients," said Drumm in a statement.

SCS is a Microsoft Gold Certified partner with annual revenues of more than $9 million, specializing in Microsoft Dynamics NAV solutions. The acquisition is scheduled to close on Nov. 1.
