Retail Realm to take over US ordering for Microsoft Dynamics RMS, POS 2009 on February 1

Microsoft partners in the US selling Dynamics RMS Store and Headquarters and Dynamics POS 2009 will soon be fulfilling their orders through California-based Retail Realm, who will become the central provider for these retail solutions via a new online ordering system.

The change affects several hundred partners, according to Retail Realm spokesperson.

"For customers in the USA who require hardware with pre-loaded software, [such as devices from ScanSource,] there is one additional step in the purchasing process," the spokesperson said. "Customers must first purchase the license from Retail Realm and then pass the information on for loading."

For those who have not done business with Retail Realm before, some familiarization will be required with the new process, including new paperwork and an administrative process that needs to be completed before orders can be accepted.

The online ordering system comes into effect on 1st February 2014 worldwide. It provides:

  • The ability to manage multiple customers and orders all in one place across Microsoft, Retail Realm and other partner products
  • 24/7 Centralized access from a web browser
  • Visibility and tracking of order status
  • Email notifications as the order progresses
  • Historical order history
