Microsoft has rolled CRM Online Service Update 3, a chance to address some performance and usability issues. The fixes cover a range of smaller items including:

  • Duplicate records created if Save and Save and Close is pressed multiple times
  • Unhandled exceptions in asynchronous plugin instantiation causes Async service to crash
  • Option set not selected on first click
  • SQL deadlock and performance issues after Spring Release ‘14 update was applied
  • Multiple navigation and command bars show up via associated grid navigation
  • Users are unexpectedly switched back to the grid when using Assign button on forms
  • The product updates fail to apply about one minute into the "applying updates" section due to missing dependencies

"It is nice to see a steady release of fixes from Microsoft. Especially with a focus of frustrating usability issues and performance optimization," writes Sonoma partners' Blake Scarlavai in a blog post.

Scarlavai said to find out if your organization has been updated, click the gear in the top right corner and click "About" to check the build number. The build number for the update is 6.1.0.1043.

You can find the full list of fixes in a KB article.

Additionally, the Microsoft EMEA CRM Support Team announced the rollout of updates for Dynamics CRM tablet apps.

"Along with the release of Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2013 Service Pack 1 and the upgrade of online organizations to the CRM Online Spring '14 release we have released mobile app updates to the marketplace," according to a blog post
