GPUG Unveils ‘Share My Code’, an Experiment in User Submitted Dynamics GP Customizations
During the opening day of GPUG Summit 2011 in Las Vegas, the organization unveiled the launch of a member service that could benefit any Microsoft Dynamics GP user bold enough to get their hands dirty with customizations and scripts submitted by other users and partners. Called Share My Code, the self-described "code sharing science fair" is live now.
GPUG Director Kim Peterson described Share My Code as a portal where people can upload and download custom GP code. "Let's say someone is using SmartList Builder, and they want to have it do something," she said. "We hope to build up this machine, so that they can go in, do a search for what they want to do, and then be able to download the code for it."
Pam Misialek, senior product manager for Microsoft Dynamics GP, added that it's a newtwist on the sandbox concept, where developers and partners go to "play." While there have long been other web sites to download scripts and custom code like Mibuso, DynamicsUser.net, and GPWindow, this is the first with an official endorsement of any kind.
