Microsoft's recent restructuring announcement has implications well beyond executive shuffling, because it will take Dynamics ERP and CRM mainstream. The products will emerge from the Microsoft Business Solutions (MBS) enclave within the company, where they have been nurtured under the leadership of MBS president emeritus Kirill Tatarinov into a "nearly $2 billion" operation over the last decade. Dynamics now appears to be a true Microsoft strategic investment, aimed at strengthening the company's vision of the digital business of the future.
