Casting a Vote for Dynamics CRM: xRM for voter registration, election management

Voter registrationTo conduct successful, open, and honest elections, state and local governments must first enable citizens to register. That registration activity initiates a process that requires civic officials to manage the data, which, in this day and age, means deploying a (hopefully) well-designed off the shelf solution.

And it may come as no surprise that with the requirement for a local, regional, or state government to manage citizen data - in this case registraiton and election data - there is a way to apply Microsoft Dynamics CRM to the challenge.

In this case, SOE Software has just rolled out the Clarity Voter Registration & Election Management System - not an actual voting system - that leverages Dynamics CRM to help state and local jurisdictions improve constituent engagement. This new module, the latest addition to the company's e-Election Platform,  also helps election officials register voters while streamlining administrative processes, according to Branden Elwell, general manager at SOE.

Elwell said the new voter registration and election management solution is the only such system that leverage Microsoft Dynamics CRM - bringing all the advantages of constituent relationship management to the world of elections.

"We had gotten together with Microsoft to respond to an opportunity in Alaska last year (SOE worked with the state on a modern, secure electronic method of delivering ballots to all absentee voters) and the Dynamics idea came to us in that presentation," Elwell said. "Subsequently we've gone all-in to redevelop that system and leveraging Dynamics CRM and some other Microsoft technologies to use as our core baseline for the product itself."
