In a recent AX User Group webinar, Microsoft's Milinda Vitharana, senior program manager of business intelligence (BI) and reporting development for Dynamics AX, boldly stated, "Our vision of BI is to empower everyone across the company."
Participating in a user group session, "Latest AX Reporting Tips and Tricks," Vitharana touted new self-service features in Dynamics AX2009, most notably out-of-the-box BI content that enables end-users across the organization to access reports in a more timely manner.
These new features also enable developers to more easily customize and create new content, leveraging the BI Platform (SQL) with AX data. In addition, new role-centered "homepages" provide users with a "single page" view of the overall business, complete with key performance indicators (KPIs) and management reports.
