In an aggressive marketing campaign, launched via a special new web site, Microsoft is pushing users of QuickBooks Enterprise 7.0 to switch to Dynamics GP 10.0.
The web site campaign is both slick and substantive, including a customer testimonial video and detailed studies-reviews of the two programs. Possibly the most devastating, from the QuickBooks perspective, is an analysis provided by The Accounting Library, a software selection tool for middle market companies.
It assesses Dynamics GP 10 versus QuickBooks Enterprise 7.0, and finds that on a dozen key attributes, GP 10 comes out way ahead on each. These include general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, inventory, and budgeting, among others. "Microsoft Dynamics GP met 84% of the requirements list while QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions met 40%," the analysis concludes.
There is also a review from the CPA Technology Advisor giving GP 10 a five-star rating on all counts. The reviewer concludes that the "latest release made more substantial improvements than any other software I have seen in this year's review."
