Accenture, Microsoft, and their joint venture Avanade have launched the Accenture Microsoft Business Group (AMBG) to grow their products and services focused on Microsoft technology.

The new dedicated group at Accenture builds on the long-standing strategic relationship between Accenture and Microsoft. ABMG brings together more than 45,000 professionals, including Avanade’s approximately 35,000 employees and 10,000 Accenture professionals. The group plans to offer customers new joint products and services built on the Microsoft cloud, officials of the companies said in a statement.

“To help organizations across all industries, the new group will emphasize helping clients migrate to Microsoft Azure and effectively harness the power of data and artificial intelligence, optimize Microsoft business processes with Dynamics 365, and foster modern work and collaboration with Microsoft 365,” Microsoft officials stated.

The ABMG will focus on helping clients achieve goals that the three companies hadn’t focused on individually. This includes large-scale transformational work anchored in the Microsoft platform, according to the Accenture/Avanade officials.

“[ABMG] will increase focus on building Microsoft consulting and technology services capabilities, including enterprise architects, consulting/advisory and more,” the Accenture officials stated. “It will also see investment in the development of Microsoft industry solutions by creating new, dedicated go-to-market play teams and a co-innovation/co-creation function.”

Avanade will continue to operate as a standalone business, serving both its own direct client base (separate from Accenture’s clients), as well as service existing and new joint clients.

“[AMBG] will expand their combined service capabilities, global scale and joint solution development to help clients seize the opportunity to lead transformation in their industries and overcome disruption,” the Microsoft officials stated in response to questions asked by MSDW.
