Scribe's iPaaS to Accelerate Microsoft Power BI Solutions

Millions of Power BI Users Can Now Quickly Analyze and Visualize Data With New Power BI Solution Templates

MANCHESTER, NH--(Marketwired - May 16, 2016) - Scribe Software, a global data integration leader, today announced a relationship with Microsoft Corp. to integrate the company's integration platform as a service (iPaaS), Scribe Online, with the new Microsoft Power BI solution templates. The Power BI solution templates empower businesses with end-to-end, enterprise-ready analytic dashboards for sales management. Through Scribe Online, Power BI users get fast and easy access to data from on-premises systems such as Microsoft Dynamics CRM, and cloud services such as Dynamics CRM Online and Salesforce.

The new Power BI solution templates, which are available for free to all Power BI users, include a 90-day license to Scribe Online Replication Services, Scribe's secure and fast cloud-based service to replicate data to SQL Server or Microsoft Azure SQL Database. The Power BI solution templates rely on Scribe Online to automatically set up the data models needed for the Power BI dashboards; populate the dashboards with data from sources such as Dynamics CRM, Dynamics CRM Online or Salesforce; and keep the dashboards up to date with the most current data. Users have the option to extend their Scribe Online Replication Services license or to upgrade to the entire Scribe Online iPaaS solution at any time. With Scribe Online, business users can use the Power BI solution templates to deploy a scalable, secure and extensible Power BI dashboard in a few hours that can be extended and customized for additional data sources and requirements.

"Microsoft Power BI has given millions of business users a way to analyze and visualize their data, and we are excited to be part of the Power BI solution templates to help those users quickly and easily set up and maintain their Power BI analytic dashboards," said Shawn McGowan, president and CEO of Scribe Software. "Scribe Online brings fast and flexible integration capabilities to companies of all sizes, and our customers' use of our replication services will help business users get access to the data they need when they need it."

With Scribe Online, Power BI users can:

  • Simplify Power BI dashboard setup: Scribe's setup wizards help get data flowing to Power BI dashboards in minutes -- without heavy lifting from IT
  • Improve performance: Scribe's intelligent data handling brings the latest data to Power BI visualizations so users get up-to-date insights without waiting
  • Analyze all data:  Scribe blends data from multiple data sources with ready-to-go-connectors to help build the underlying data model for the Power BI solution templates
  • Use less compute power: Scribe Online Replication Services integrates incremental changes in data, reducing the compute capacity needed for moving data into Power BI and cutting operating costs

"Power BI solution templates accelerate the time to solution for enterprise BI projects using design best practices and a guided experience," said Kamal Hathi, partner director of program management for Power BI. "Using Scribe Online with the Power BI solution templates eliminates common hurdles around traditional data integration, helping Power BI users to integrate data from multiple sources into a new Power BI dashboard with just a few clicks."
