Official or Not, Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013 Makes a First Public Appearance Ahead of Convergence 2012

The Microsoft Dynamics GP community will be paying close attention at Convergence 2012 to all the additional details that Microsoft is expected to share about the upcoming GP "12" release, expected to be release later this year.   One of those details that may have already become a foregone conclusion is the release's official name. 

Most have assumed GP "12" would become Dynamics GP 2013, and those guesses appear to be correct.  

In a new email to Dynamics GP partners sent by the GPUG-run  GP Partner Connections to promote the GP partner PreGAME event prior to Convergence, Dynamics GP 2013 is identified by name.  Here's one example from the email:

"Sessions will be led by Microsoft Dynamics GP executives and will give Partners an opportunity to learn about new features in Dynamics GP 2013 and what should be done now to prepare for this significant upcoming release."

GP Partner Connections also uses the GP 2013 name freely on its schedule for the PreGame event with sessions like "Make It Happen with Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013", "Selling the Dynamics GP 2013 Web Client", "Pricing and Licensing with Dynamics GP 2013", and so on. By contrast, the official Convergence 2012 session catalog still uses the GP "12" nomenclature.

Given the naming convention that dictates naming a version of GP for the next year if the product ships in the second half of a calendar year, the 2013 moniker would suggest that Microsoft has firmed up its ...
