Kissimmee Utility Authority Integrates New Time Entry Solution with GP to Provide Better Internal Data Control

Kissimmee Utility Authority (KUA) owns, operates and manages the municipal electric system established by the City of Kissimmee, Florida in 1901. Compared to the other municipally-owned electric utilities, KUA is the 6th largest utility in Florida. KUA's 300+ employees serve approximately 58,000 customers in Kissimmee and surrounding areas.

KUA was using Business Portal within Microsoft Dynamics GP to track time and manage Human Resources information. However, KUA found the Microsoft Dynamics GP cost accounting and time tracking components lacking in two primary areas. The first issue, was Business Portal, which is the GP time entry system, only allowed one level of approver and one level of supervisor. The second issue revolved around accrual calculations and data validation. Therefore, KUA needed a new solution that solved these issues and still integrated with Microsoft Dynamics GP.
